Diet[edit]

Likes to eat algae when very young, but also will eat dry flake food, bloodworm, etc. Appetite for algae is dependent upon which sub species of SAE you purchase, eg. Atrilimes, Langai, Oblongus , etc. Langai is the most coveted for algae eating in the aquarium hobby but the rarest to find in a local fish store. 95% of the time it will be Atrilimes that are sold and purchased.
